上一講,我們說到GRE寫作中Analyze an Issue是類似于托福the Independent Writing Task的寫作分項(xiàng)。點(diǎn)擊鏈接回顧:

但是,比起托福獨(dú)立寫作任務(wù),GRE寫作的Analyze an Issue任務(wù)的要求更多也更高。
并且,我們看到了最常見的一種指令:Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.
指令中關(guān)鍵的部分已經(jīng)用斜體字和高亮標(biāo)出。
我們?cè)谏弦恢v還講到“回應(yīng)這中指令的作文在行文邏輯上不需要特別的設(shè)計(jì),就是按部就班的方式進(jìn)行討論就好”。也就是說我們正常論證給出的statement的對(duì)錯(cuò)(也就是我們同意或者不同意)即可。
我們今天再看一個(gè)這個(gè)指令的題目:
The surest indicator of a great nation is represented not by the achievements of its rulers, artists, or scientists, but by the general welfare of its people.
假設(shè)我們我們的立場(chǎng)為:【Agree】,老師寫了一個(gè)作文的梗概,如下:
開頭段落
The statement is true as it rebuts the misconception that the greatness of a nation is determined by the achievements of its elite class and points out the truth that it is because its people enjoy good general welfare that a nation is great.
主體部分第一段
以簡(jiǎn)單的“少數(shù)服從多數(shù)”邏輯為論據(jù)。
The statement sees the greater picture as it focuses on the overwhelming majority of a nation and disregards the tiny portion. It is certainly wrong to generalize from a country’s elitists, which are a rather small group of people and thus hardly representative of all, to the entire nation. On the contrary, it is apparent that average people, who are the predominant part of a nation, are definitely decisive.
主體部分第二段
看到statement底層想法的正確性(適用于幾乎所有題目)。
Underlying the statement is the idea of fairness. When we put emphasis on the welfare that covers the overall population and on people who are ordinary, there would be less risk of having disproportional distribution of wealth.

以歷史的眼光看問題(適用于立意很高的題目)。
History has proved what the statement says.
結(jié)尾段落
In light of the above, the statement is true in a minimum of three dimensions. A nation’s rulers, artists, or scientists may achievement great accomplishments; however, none of those achievements are comparable with the general welfare of the nation’s average people.
文中依然是多處被高亮的部分,這些部分往往出現(xiàn)在每個(gè)段落的開頭(也包括開頭段落和結(jié)尾段落)。
也就是說寫作時(shí),我們首先以審視的眼光去評(píng)價(jià)statement,好比我們把statement當(dāng)成一個(gè)人,并且這個(gè)人說了一句話,我們?cè)谠u(píng)價(jià)這句話之前先說“這個(gè)人很有大局觀”,作為宏觀的一個(gè)定性,然后再說這句話具體怎么體現(xiàn)了大局觀。
如果我們不同意這個(gè)人的這句話,我們先說“這個(gè)人的眼光狹隘了”,然后才去這句話具體怎么狹隘了(即statement中的具體陳述)。
這種寫作方法是Issue任務(wù)中討喜的,符合Issue任務(wù)的設(shè)定和要求。
這種寫作手法,我們會(huì)在接下來不斷通過范文(梗概)中的黃色高亮部分提醒大家。
當(dāng)然,這兩講(第1、2講)我們面對(duì)的是最簡(jiǎn)單的指令類型,下一講,我們看一個(gè)稍有挑戰(zhàn)的邏輯類型。
